Dr. Uday Gandhe has worked as a Senior Consultant in Superspeciality Department of Cardiac Anesthesiology at various premier tertiary care hospitals in Mumbai. He was instrumental in setting up and preparing standard operating protocols of Cardiac Anesthesiology.He has contributed in setting up the Cardiac Anesthesiology and Postoperative intensive care in many hospitals, Mumbai.

He has the credit of administering Anesthesia in approximately 700-750 open heart procedures every year for the last 18 years. His major adult surgical work includes CABG, OPCAB, all valve repairs and replacements, major vascular work and also carotid endarterectomy and pediatric work includes PDA ligation, ASD repair, VSD repair and TOF correction.

Dr. Uday was a clinical visitor at Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia in 2000. He was a Consultant Anesthesiologist from 1998 – 2000, Clinical associate from 1995-98 in Department of Anesthesiology, P.D. Hinduja National Hospital, Mumbai. He was a Clinical Visitor at Department of Cardiac Anesthesia at the University of Western Ontario, Canada and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, USA, 1996. Before that from 1992-95 he was a senior resident in Cardiac Anesthesiology, at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India. At this premier medical institute he was part of the first heart transplant team, done in 1994 during his residency.
